Flammulated Owl Owl Psiloscops flammeolus

We described the first nesting record of Flammulated Owl in Guatemala. The observation is noteworthy because Flammulated Owl was unrecorded in Guatemala for more than 80 years, this represents the first nesting record south-east of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, and it extends the upper limit of the known elevation range by 700 m.
