Important Bird Areas in Guatemala
Knut Eisermann and Claudia Avendaño coordinated under the unbrella of Sociedad Guatemalteca de Ornitología the identification of Important Bird Areas in Guatemala, an iniciative of BirdLife International. Our data on the local bird diversity (collected under the umbrella of the former PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program) served as base for the identification of Important Bird Areas throughout the country.
